At the Psoriasis Eczema Clinic, we understand that every patient is different and must be treated as such. We offer customized treatment plans for skin conditions using Integrative Dermatology principles and Professor Tirant’s “Treatment Protocols”.
Integrative dermatology provided at the Psoriasis Eczema Clinic is based on proven scientific research our treatment protocols have been developed over many years and have been tested by dermatologists in a number of clinical trials. We have achieved a 90% success rate in the treatment of psoriasis. We have also successfully treated many other skin conditions.
The ‘standard’ approach to treating skin conditions is the use of mainstream oral, injectable and topical medications to manage inflammation and symptoms. However, in many cases this does not address the underlying triggers, therefore patients remain in a vicious cycle of flare-ups and never-ending treatment.
Professor Michael Tirant is the founder and Principal Consultant specializing in Integrative Dermatology at the Psoriasis Eczema Clinic in Frankston, Australia. Prof. Tirant is Full Professor of the Dermatology and Venereology at University of Rome “G. Marconi”, Rome, Italy. Prof. Tirant is an advisor for Australia and South-East Asia for the dermatology disabilities of the Vitiligo Research Foundation at the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) United Nations.
He has been a Lecturer – Genetics, Microbiology, Pharmacology and Biochemistry, Monash University, Nutritional Medicine at the Australian College of Nutritional Medicine, Melbourne, Australia and Traditional Chinese Medicine at RMIT, Melbourne, Australia. He is a member of the Editing Panel of the Journal of Global Dermatology.
Prof. Tirant’s interest in skin conditions began after a close personal friend’s ongoing battle with psoriasis made him realise how little was actually known about the condition. He began to research psoriasis, concentrating not only on the initial precipitating factors but also the identification of the ongoing triggers that cause psoriasis to flare up.
His special interests are pathogenesis and integrated treatment approach for psoriasis, vitiligo and other autoimmune disorders. He has published over 50 papers. Prof. Tirant has authored and co-authored several chapters and books in dermatology and medical science. He has presented lectures and papers at a number of international conferences.
He has been involved in dermatology research for over 30 years and has developed over 40 products including the Dr Michaels topicals and Seloderma orals using bio-herbal actives for the treatment of many dermatological conditions, including psoriasis, atopic eczema, ichthyosis, alopecia areata, vitiligo and systemic lupus erythematosus. The treatments have been used internationally with great success.
Prof. Tirant has been a leader in pioneering Integrative Dermatology, having a holistic approach to the treatment of dermatological diseases, combining conventional and alternative treatment approaches, leading to the evolution of Integrative Dermatology. Integrative Dermatology is now used worldwide in the treatment and management of skin diseases.
His motto is to “address triggers that flare up dermatological diseases, as well as treating the symptoms”
After many years of research Prof. Tirant discovered that the primary triggers (that initiate the flare-up of the condition) and some of the secondary triggers (that continue to exacerbate the condition) are blood group related.
Prof. Tirant has not only continued to strive to improve the topical treatments (to treat the symptoms) but has also developed an innovative approach to combating the exacerbating triggers with oral medications and changes to diet and lifestyle.
After treating skin conditions for many years practicing under his own name, Professor Tirant opened the first registered Psoriasis & Skin Clinic in 1998 in Frankston, Melbourne. Expansion came in 2000, when the first Sydney Clinic was opened and within a year a second Sydney Clinic opened. In 2003, the Adelaide clinic was established and shortly after the Brisbane clinic.

The group underwent a branding change in 2012 from ‘Psoriasis & Skin Clinic’ to ‘Good Skin Care’ to better reflect the wide range of conditions treated. At one stage there were 20 Good Skin Care clinics across Australia and New Zealand. In order to allow more patients to gain access to the treatment products, we now operate under a distribution system.
Professor Tirant now operates two Psoriasis Eczema Clinics, one in Frankston and the other in St Kilda, Melbourne. Our Practitioners are committed to achieving the best possible results for patients and use Professor Tirant’s treatment protocols, orals and topicals medications.
